Located in a beautiful rural setting, we pride ourselves on our progressive farming practices, including the use of Lely robotic milking machines. As part of The Dairy Herds Team, you'll play an essential role in ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and milk production.

What You’ll Do
As our Herdsperson, you’ll be at the heart of the day-to-day operations of our dairy unit. Working alongside the Farm Foreman, you will help manage and care for a high-performing herd, ensuring the smooth running of our organic and sustainable dairy farm. Your key duties will include:

• Youngstock & Heifer Care: Manage and care for all dairy/beef youngstock and replacement heifers, from milk to weaned stage.

• Robotic Milking Systems: Operate and maintain our state-of-the-art Lely robotic milking machines, ensuring efficiency and optimal milk production.

• Animal Welfare: Assist with the treatment of sick animals, support routine inspections with vets, and provide high-quality animal care.

• Reproductive Management: Assist with artificial insemination or observe stock bull breeding.

• General Farm Duties: Help with paddock fencing, plate metering, and foot trimming.

• Support Across Farm Enterprises: Pitch in across different areas of the farm as needed, ensuring the success of the whole operation.

What We’re Looking For
We need someone who is passionate about sustainable farming and is committed to delivering exceptional animal care. Our ideal Herdsperson will have:

• Proven experience in dairy cow and calf husbandry.

• Knowledge and hands-on experience in milk production, including robotic systems and organic farming practices.

• Familiarity with assurance schemes and farm-based food production.

• A computer literate individual with skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Full, clean driving license, telehandler, and AI certification.

In addition to your experience and skills, a strong commitment to health and safety on the farm is essential, ensuring the farm runs smoothly and all tasks are carried out with care.
