Based at the Aldingbourne Trust’s Country Centre (ACC) in the heart of the beautiful South Downs countryside just outside Chichester and is part of the vibrant Aldingbourne Country Centre’s Hospitality Service. We are looking for an engaging and dynamic individual with a passion for catering to join our busy team at ACC, providing quality hospitality services to our visitors and our clients, both corporate and supported, in modern facilities and to perform the following duties:
To serve and assist customers in the cafe in an engaging manner and ensuring excellent standards of customer service.
To operate the tills confidently and account for daily takings
To ensure customers are greeted professionally, politely, and with a warm welcome
Ability to work both front of house and kitchen, as required
Respond to the challenges of a dynamic and energetic kitchen environment, whilst maintaining the highest of standards
Share in your experience and knowledge providing opportunities for people with learning disabilities to gain skills developing their independence and leading towards employment
The ideal candidate will have:
Relevant experience in a Catering Environment
Food Hygiene Qualification and be familiar with food safety standards
Good communication and listening skills
Demonstrate the ability to provide excellent customer care
Good team working skills
Ability to maintain a safe working environment
A commitment to the principles of people with learning disabilities having human rights, dignity, respect, equality, and an emphasis on positive outcomes for people. An understanding of how to develop arrangements that safeguard and protect people from abuse.
The desire and drive to make a difference
We have one position currently available one for 22.5 hours per week. Working 3 days Monday to Sunday with usual working hours of 8.30 - 4.30pm. The role will include periodic weekend working as part of a shared rota.
Salary - £5.50 per hour (under 18), £7 per hour (18-20), £9.20 per hour (21-22) and £10.26 per hour (23 and over) (Subject to change in April 2023 in accordance with the Government’s National Minimum Wage)
Own transport is essential due to the locations of the site.
