Accounts Assistant

Haywards Heath, West Sussex

Full time with flexible start / finish times between 8am-6pm

Salary £20,000-24,000 per annum dependent on experience

My client is an award winning commercial business based in Haywards Heath which is currently flying performance wise! They're seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant join them in a newly created role for the finance team. Several impressive years of growth mean this individual will be joining at a very exciting time and will quickly become an integral part of their dynamic, supportive finance team.

The purpose of this role is to support the Group Financial Accountant in all purchase ledger and treasury management functions for the group of companies. You will benefit from joining a close-knit and very friendly finance team of long-standing staff who all work well together. In addition, opportunities for role development and progression are available if desired.

Overview of duties:

• Retrieve supplier invoices and uploading of all purchase invoices to the accounts package
• Assessment of each purchase ledger invoice to ensure compliance with approval limits and nominal coding
• Analysing supplier invoices for payment terms to support weekly cashflow
• Supplier payments
• Staff expenses verification and processing
• Company card verification, processing and reconciliation
• Raising customer invoices
• Working with colleagues and suppliers via email and telephone to resolve queries
• Filing
• Providing regular support in other areas of the Finance team to ensure continuity during busy or absence periods
• Ad hoc duties as required by the Financial Controller
