Harvey John are working with a globally recognisable insurance firm in their search for a qualified Reporting Accountant.

You'll be part an experienced and growing team, based in the heart of London's financial district. Joining an international insurance leader, you'll be involved in pan-European operations as well as initial involvement in several key projects across the firm.

Overview of the role

  • Provide key support on quarterly financial analysis for the Regulatory Team which will require good knowledge of Insurance Accounting as well as first class Excel skills.
  • Cover detailed reconciliation work between Reserving Data & Finance systems to ensure new systems are cohesive.
  • Provide insight to Project leads / managers regarding proposed data solutions & impacts for Finance.
  • Detailed involvement in testing of the data solutions for projects.
  • Assist in Regulatory Annual filings predominantly for Solvency II (Pillar 3) plus others.
  • Ensure collaboration and communication across all Finance functions and with other departments to assist in the development of reporting processes as it expands to cover new entity and branch reporting.
  • Ad hoc projects as required.

Candidate Skills & Attributes

Required experience

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Company Market Regulatory Reporting
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Good knowledge of Accounting for Insurance contracts under FRS102/2013
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to learn quickly
  • Proven to produce Statutory Accounts without assistance
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and organisation

Advantageous Experience

  • Knowledge of Part VII Transfers and/or Functional Currency change.
  • Experience of Pillar 3 and production of SFCR & RSR.
  • SAP general ledger system
