Furniture Revival & Upcycling is a new enterprise at the Country Centre, providing opportunities to work upon a wide range of furniture, including some unusual items.  In this ‘hands on’ role you will be running the Country Centre’s furniture workshop, working on customer pieces for repair and upcycling on a commercial basis; donated or purchased items for later sale in our showroom; and customer furniture commissions.  A knowledge of a range of paint techniques (such as ageing, distressing, crackle glazing and decoupage) is required, experience in upholstery would be an advantage.

You will be running the workshop and furniture enterprise to provide training, support and appropriate learning environments for people with learning disabilities who attend the Country Centre.  Items are upcycled or repaired in an appropriate and sensitive way, meeting customer requirements, and the income generated is an essential part of making the Centre and the Trust both successful and sustainable.  Work within the enterprise is varied and there are opportunities to develop complementary activities.  The Trust recognises the valued contribution made by our volunteers and the role requires working closely with our volunteers and supporters.

The contractual hours for this post are 37.5 hours per week (working 5 days in 7)
