An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and knowledgeable practitioner to join the team at Coastal Enterprises as a Care Officer.

The role involves being a part of the service's senior team, providing guidance and formal and informal support and supervision to support staff and volunteers. The successful applicant will take the lead in an area of the service and work with support staff and the management team to develop the service offer in that area. The role will also include participation in the centre's duty rota and covering the management of the service in the absence of the management team.

The key aim of this role is to support those who attend the service (adults who have a learning disability) and enable community engagement through skills development and confidence building. The successful applicant will (with support workers) lead a keygroup of around 20 customers - this part of the role involves maintaining paper and electronic files, reviewing and amending support plans and chairing annual reviews as well as building and maintaining positive working relationships with customers and their support networks.

The role also requires demonstrable positive experience of care planning and risk assessment and review processes. A further key part of the role will be to develop, plan and deliver activities that ensure customers' needs are met and work towards the developmental aims of the individual and the service.
