Senior Finance Assistant

1 Year Maternity Leave Cover

Salary circa £25,000pa

An award winning international business based in Steyning requires a technically competent finance professional with an excellent work ethic to join their finance team. Reporting directly to a qualified Head of Finance, the role will cover an existing employee's maternity leave for a period of 12 months. There will be a 4-6 week handover period to ensure this individual is fully comfortable in their new position before the employee goes on leave.

Based in an idyllic rural setting overlooking the South Downs, this organisation has notably attractive offices and a close-knit team of friendly employees. The organisation is building upon several years of continued success by reinvesting in both the business and its staff and looking at expansion opportunities. There could be other opportunities that arise within the team towards the end of the maternity leave contract.

Duties:

• Posting/reconciling monthly sales figures to accounting system.
• Prepare and post depreciation to accounting system.
• Assist with multi-currency bank reconciliations.
• Purchase ledger remittance advices.
• Assist with VAT and withholding tax returns.
• Prepare and reconcile and distribute various internal accounting reports.
• General finance administrative duties.
• Ad hoc duties as determined from time to time.

This will be a busy role where effective time management and attention to detail are paramount. Ideally candidates will hold or be studying towards an accounting qualification and have strong Excel skills to include pivot tables.
