Town Force Member (Maintenance and Gardening vacancy)

Full time, permanent position

The work is varied and interesting, tasks you could be doing range from setting up for events, planting flower beds on the roundabouts, watering hanging baskets, removing graffiti and installing/repairing street furniture. Proven previous experience in horticulture, general maintenance, bricklaying, plumbing, painting, joinery and electrical skills is required. Candidates need to be able to work outside in all weather conditions.

The normal working week for this position is 37 hours from 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 3.30pm on Friday with half an hour for lunch. Should watering need to be done in the summer, the start time on watering days will be 7am. You may be requested to work at weekends for which overtime is payable.

21 days paid holiday pro rata + Bank Holidays + 2 Statutory Days at Christmas Pay Scale £17,072 per annum
A six month probationary period will apply from the date of employment.
