We’re looking to recruit an Independent Reviewing Officer. You will play a crucial role in promoting best outcomes for children looked after. Your primary role will be undertaking statutory reviews of children looked after by the authority, ensuring that high quality child care plans are carried through in a timely manner.

We need someone who is emotionally intelligent, who possesses high levels of confidence which allows them to scrutinise and respectively challenge practice from a child centred perspective. Scrutinising pace and purpose for improving the safety and wellbeing of children looked after will be a crucial aspect to the role. You’ll also need to be flexible and creative in your approach to the work as well as having a comprehensive knowledge of legislation, policy and procedure relating to children looked after.

You will be required to be registered with the HCPC and have a CQSW / Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent), front-line management experience and be looking for a role where you can engender best practice in all areas of safeguarding children.
