ISU Stanhope Lodge is a busy service, which support adults with learning disabilities, either residents here or short break customers, whose behaviours may challenge. As Senior Support Worker, you will fulfil the role of Duty officer as well as providing direct support to customers with learning disabilities, whose behaviours may challenge, including activities of daily living, community access and personal care You will need to maintain a nurturing, positive and safe living environment within the Unit, in order to meet the wishes of the customers. Be alert to the abilities, safety and well-being of the customers as required under Health and Safety legislation and CQC registration. You will also provide active support (i.e. support that encourages individuals to do as much for themselves as possible) and enable customers in all aspects of their personal and physical care in line with individual customer plan, whilst maintaining their dignity, privacy and independence. This may include assisting customers with their toilet routine, showering, feeding, administering medication, laundry, shopping, assisting with moving and handling, etc. Ideally, you will hold Diploma level 3 or equivalent qualification and knowledge of different forms of communication. You need to have demonstrable previous experience of working with vulnerable adults and behaviours that may challenge.
