Coastal Enterprises is a day service for adults who have a learning disability. We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced practitioner to join the team. The role involves supporting those who attend the service to work towards achieving their individual aims and goals in a supportive and developmental environment. The successful applicant will be expected to work as part of a team supporting a "key group" of customers. The grade 5 support worker role includes: offering day-to-day advice, guidance and support to grade 3 support workers, apprentices and volunteers. Having responsibility for a defined area of service and contributing to the on-going development of the service as a whole. We are currently involved in a development process which is focussed on ensuring that the service is able to meet the needs of those who currently attend the service and that the service is fit for the future and able to meet the needs of new people joining the service. We currently offer sessions in the following areas: art and craft, gardening/horticulture, IT, cooking, health and well-being and a small contract workshop. Experience in one or more of these service areas would be beneficial but is not essential. We are looking for an individual who is approachable, responsible and willing to advocate on behalf of those who use the service.
