We are looking for an individual with enthusiasm who will continue to develop and increase our family of community volunteers. Our volunteers are generous people who give up their own time to support the prevention work of our firefighters and other staff within the Communities and Public Protection Directorate.

This role is essential to the delivery of our community based events and supports our aim of creating more resilient communities. It provides the central point of contact between crews and volunteers and coordinates resources such as vehicles and promotional material. It has responsibility for recruiting new volunteers, as well supporting and developing our existing ones. The role will deliver a basic induction volunteer training, for which training and support will be provided and organise training with other lead professionals.


The person we seek is an individual who has an aptitude for working with people coupled with knowledge of volunteer programmes and experience of working in partnership.
