Would you like to work with the Fire and Rescue Service? If so this is an exciting opportunity for a creative and versatile communications professional to join our small team.

We are looking for someone with a flair for copy writing, the ability to make connections across a variety of different work strands and excellent negotiating and influencing skills.

The role offers the chance to work on a wide range of projects – from developing joined up campaign messages and material, writing toolkits for the crews to use when delivering community events to helping attract sponsorship for the fire and rescue service’s prevention and intervention work.

You might come from a journalistic background – or you may already be working in a communications role. You will need to be media savvy – as confident talking to local and occasionally national journalists as you would be talking to the local community.

You will be robust, resilient and flexible and enjoy being in a role where you will work with fire crews to promote their preventative work, influence the content of their messages and oversee their social media activity.
