About the Role

Are you ready to take on a new challenge?

East Sussex Standards and Learning Effectiveness Service (SLES) is looking to recruit a manager with responsibility for safeguarding to its successful school improvement team

Based in the beautiful county of East Sussex, the service offers school improvement and training opportunities to a wide range of primary schools, academies, colleges and settings.

We are seeking an experienced teacher with extensive expertise and experience in leading safeguarding and child protection practice within a school setting. Candidates must be confident in working across primary, secondary and special schools

The manager’s role will sit within the small SLES safeguarding team and will also require you to work in partnership with the Safeguarding Unit and other agencies to improve standards and quality of safeguarding provision for all East Sussex learners in settings, schools, academies and colleges, in part through the delivery of a traded service.

This position will provide an excellent developmental opportunity for the right candidate to ensure that settings, schools, colleges and the service develop robust approaches to safeguarding children that adhere to national and local statutory requirements, standards and procedural guidance.

We are happy to consider job share applications, part time working or requests for secondment opportunities.

Interviews will be held in Lewes on the 20 May 2016.

Additional Information

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
