Working within the Pines Day Centre in Worthing you will support the Life Skills Unit through focussed needs led activities within an Enablement model of care.

Within the Care Officer role you will work as part of the senior team contributing to the management of day to day operational issues such as staff supervision, chairing reviews, planning of work distribution, dealing with Adult Safeguarding, Health and Safety. You will support within the senior management team to ensure the safe running of the service day to day by being part of the Duty Officer rota, supervising a group of support workers with day to day work delegation, supervision and participate in their development and good practise.

The purpose of the role is to supervise the day to day operations of the Life Skills Group within a team of experienced staff. The key aim will be to support individuals with high levels of dependency or complex needs to access focussed activities either within the service or local community.

You will supervise a team of Support Workers within the Unit, through allocation of work, contributing to their development. Implementation of the service objectives within The Pines Development Plan to maximise the customers independence and opportunities. Key worker and point of contact for customers and people important within their lives.

You will be a need to drive the minibus to access the community activities so a clean driving license with D1 preferred.
