Are you passionate about reducing waste?

Waste Services is responsible for the management and delivery of the County Council’s Waste Disposal Authority obligations. Our challenge is to minimise the amount of waste that we have to send to landfill by encouraging residents and visitors to West Sussex to reduce, re-use and recycle.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and likeminded person to join us on a casual basis to assist with our programme of waste prevention activities and campaigns. Training will be provided. Using excellent organisational and communication skills, you will work alone and with your team members, volunteers and key stakeholders to give talks, staff information stands and run workshops at community events and venues across the county.

This role includes using our event vehicle to tow a small education trailer for which training will be provided.

We need someone who is confident and experienced in dealing with people and can establish credibility at all levels. You will need to be flexible and well organised as the work will involve some evening, weekend and Bank Holiday working.
