Young People’s Service West Sussex have a permanent opportunity available for a full time Youth Worker who is professionally qualified to degree level (or equivalent) to work in various locations across the County.

We are looking for a professional, ideally with a minimum of two years’ experience of working intensively with young people in both a group work environment and on a one to one basis.

The core business of the Young People’s Service is to provide a range of targeted and specialist interventions to vulnerable young people 10 – 25 years (priority for 13-19 years) and young people leaving care age 18-25 years with high/multiple levels of need in order to help them gain the resilience and skills they need to progress into adult life and take a positive role in their communities.

You will have the responsibility to contribute to achieving service targets, including increasing the number of young people in EET, Reduction of Re-offending and increasing the voice and engagement of young people in the design, delivery and reviewing of services.

You must be able to use your initiative and have a clear understanding of assessment processes to support and deliver a range of interventions.

You will need to be able to forge positive relationships with diverse groups of young people and partners, responding flexibly to the needs of young people and the local community.

The nature of this post will include working some evenings, weekends and residential programmes as required.
