Applications are invited for the position of Director of Curriculum. The person appointed to this key role will be accountable to the Chief Executive Officer for the overall standards of curriculum planning & delivery and outcomes for learners. Working as part of the Executive team, the person appointed will work with the Board and CEO to ensure financial sustainability, including income generation through high quality full cost recovery provision and fee income from subsidised courses. As Director of Curriculum you will be required to lead faculty teams, giving clear direction on the requirements necessary to deliver on organisational excellence and to improve communication and operating practices that will lead to high performance and contribute to organisational success. You will be responsible for organisational readiness for Ofsted and Matrix inspection, as well as for ensuring that legislative and regulatory requirements for funding compliance, equality and diversity, safeguarding and quality standards are met. Educated to degree level and with a full teaching qualification, applicants should have substantial experience within Adult Education to include a practical understanding of SFA funding methodology and performance indicators within the Common Inspection Framework. Excellent working knowledge of quality assurance, data requirements, equality systems and safeguarding practices will also be required along with a clear understanding of the rural, coastal and urban context of Sussex and the implications for Adult Education planning.
