You will be based at West Green Youth Centre in Crawley West Sussex but will need to be able to travel across the county as it is a countywide post. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join the Restorative Justice Team which is part of West Sussex Youth Offending Service as a Senior Youth Justice Officer.

You will be responsible for the staff and project management of Reparation and unpaid work for West Sussex Youth Offending Service as well as for the recruitment, training, deployment and support of volunteers working in those areas and also across Young Peoples Services more broadly. You will deputise for the Restorative Justice Team Manager as needed and will provide practice support and guidance to the team as a senior worker.

You will be both experienced and knowledgeable in Restorative Justice as they will play a key role in the development of Restorative practice in Young Peoples Service in West Sussex. You will have had significant experience of working with disaffected young people and would ideally have been involved in writing and delivering training to a range of audiences.

You will be an experienced Restorative Justice Practitioner and will have good people and project management skills. You will have a relevant Professional qualification recognised by one of the YOS statutory partner agencies (CYPS, Probation, Health and Police), e.g. DipSW/BA in Social Work, Diploma in Probation Studies, Diploma in Youth Work, Diploma in Counselling/Careers Guidance, PGCE, Registered Nurse qualification, Police Sergeant Level or hold a YJB Professional Certificate in Effective Practice and the Foundation Degree in Youth Justice plus relevant INSET training and have practised operationally for at for at least two years.
