We are expanding our social work teams and have the following vacancies: Social Worker – Placement Finding Team – based in Worthing The aim is to find suitable placements to meet children’s needs within the in-house fostering and residential services. If this is not possible the team then finds suitable placements in the independent sector. You will need to be competent to manage the need for both emergency placements along with planned placement moves providing advice about suitability and availability and focussing of placement support plans. Social Worker – Fostering (North) – based in Horsham To work as part of a team to supervise and support a case load of registered foster carers in the north of West Sussex. Developmental Trauma and Attachment Theory and a Signs of Safety approach form the basis of the work of this team. Working with foster carers as a key part of the professional network around a child is very important to the fostering service. Social worker (part time 18.5 hours) – Fostering Recruitment Team – based in Horsham and covering all of West Sussex There is a part time social work vacancy to undertake stages 1 and 2 of the assessment of new foster carers. The role includes initial home visits and Form F assessment including the Skills to Foster training and preparation of foster carers. Social Worker for the Special Guardianship and Connected Persons Assessment and Support Team – based in Horsham but covering all of West Sussex. This is a new team with the aim of providing both Reg 24 assessments for the Fostering Panel and SGO assessments for court. You will need to provide quality assessments of connected persons to meet time scales of Regulations and court. Assessments need to focus on permanence for the child and the co-production of support plans to meet the needs of the child and family. Developmental Trauma and Attachment Theory and a Signs of Safety approach form the basis of the work of this team.
