Our new Civil Engineering Apprentices will train as Highway Engineering Technicians through a two year advanced apprenticeship programme. Apprentices will be based at various locations in the county working in both an office and on site environments College attendance would be weekly on day-release during term time. Our scheme gives you the opportunity to train as an Engineering Technician through our structured training programme which covers a broad range of Civil Engineering activities supporting the Councils Highways and Transport Services. On completion of your Apprenticeship, our aim is for you to work towards and achieve Technician membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers with career prospects to further jobs in the council. The Job role will include: • Supporting project teams by providing relevant information to project managers and supporting the administration of projects • Technical duties such as inspections, surveys, measurements, estimations, calculations and production of CAD drawings • Assist with project documentation, including budgets and monitoring expenditure and production of reports • Planning for and meeting deadlines • Responding and communicating with internal and external queries
