Carers Support West Sussex is a forward-thinking charity serving West Sussex family and friends carers – offering wellbeing support to adults and young adults 16+ looking after someone who could not manage without their help.

With over 13,000 carers registered, the charity needs to reach an increasing number of carers, particularly those in under-represented groups. With over 84,000 carers in the county and a new focus on wellbeing we are growing and developing. We need a Team Leader with passion and understanding of carers’ issues who will ensure services continuously improve in response to the views of carers themselves.

You will have an awareness of the new Care Act and with proven leadership ability, you will provide innovative management for a county-wide team supporting carers in a wide range of caring situations. Your team will ensure carers are recognised early and will promote carer choice and control.

We provide information and advice mostly working through partnerships to join up local voluntary, health and social care services to put carers at the heart of all we do. So you must be enthusiastic about integration and the potential of social media and assistive technology.

You will be a key player in our Management Team and as a proactive leader you will take responsibility for delivery programmes where your skills and experience fit with our plans and priorities.

We particularly welcome applications from people from a wide range of diverse backgrounds and cultural communities. We can offer a 12 month contract initially with the expectation of offering a permanent role subject to future contracting. Secondments also welcome.
