The role will work with the West Sussex Think Family programme (Troubled Families). Think Family has developed a successful key worker approach to turning round the most troubled families in the county. The Programme is about to expanding and will be looking to help in excess of 4000 families in the next 5 years. A key problem for many troubled families is debt and money management. Central government are expanding the programme’s eligibility and criteria to better support those at risk of financial exclusion. This role will assist in the development, initially via the Think Family partnership, of a strategic approach to debt and money management advice and support across the county of West Sussex. The postholder will develop a train the trainer approach to front line support staff for signposting for debt and money management and also assist development of a money management, debt, budgeting and promotion of financial inclusion framework across the county. The role will require considerable partnership working particularly with local authorities and charity organisations.
