An exciting opportunity has arisen within the West Sussex Young Persons Substance Misuse Service and we are seeking a dynamic and hard-working individual to join us.

You will be delivering assessment and treatment interventions to ‘at risk’ young people within a local secure (welfare) setting. All young people within the unit will receive a basic assessment and brief interventions appropriate to their needs and age. Those identified as having more complex substance use issues will receive a comprehensive assessment and care planned treatment programme, supporting the provision of a multi disciplinary care package.

In addition, the worker will provide substance use training and support for staff within the unit.

Where capacity allows, the role will also entail providing wider education sessions to schools and other establishments in the surrounding area.

Working predominantly within the unit, but also at venues across Crawley, you will have the skills to work effectively with vulnerable young people with substance misuse problems, an ability to work confidently with other agencies and professionals, as well as the enthusiasm to drive this role forward and contribute to the development of the team. Salary(23-28) £21,145.50 - £24,817.50
Initially fixed term to May 8th 2016 (with possibility of extension)
