The Early Childhood service (ECS) seeks to work with children, families, early years and childcare settings and partner organisations to help ensure that every child is supported to achieve his or her potential. These early years are when the foundations for future mental health, emotional control, intelligence and parenting ability are all set in place. The home surroundings, family life and parenting ability are all important factors in determining positive outcomes for children in the future. Family Support Workers will work as part of the local children and family centre team, to offer high quality intensive packages of planned support for children (0-11 years) and their families. The service provides across a spectrum of need with a particular focus on complex needs (Tier 3) as part of the Early Help approach, working closely with colleagues in a range of organisations including settings/schools and Children’s Services.
