Multi-Dimensional Treatment Foster Care prevention (MTFCp) Leapfrog is part of West Sussex County Councils Fostering and Adoption Team. MTFCp Treatment foster care, a specialist and evidenced based programme, is for Children Looked After who may have emotional and/or behavioural difficulties who are 3-6 years of age. These children need structured and highly nurturing families in which to grow and learn. They may have already had fostering or adoption disruptions. The Leapfrog team is multi-disciplinary and is committed to help shape positive behavioural change in young children as soon as possible, in the hope that we can prevent long-term difficulties. We use a team approach to address risk factors and improve outcomes for children. We do this through our work with foster carers, adopters and with birth families. Working as part of the clinical team under the direction of the Programme Manager you will provide skills training to individual children. You will coordinate with the Programme Manager and the treatment foster carers to help manage the child’s programme. Assisting the Programme Manager, Programme Supervisor and MTFC Team you will ensure an efficient, effective and confidential service is provided to the staff and foster carers supporting the delivery of Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care for 3-6 year old children (MTFC.p). You will undertake skills sessions on a largely one to one basis with children in the Leapfrog Programme. This will entail collecting them from school and or their foster homes and taking them to places in the Community to work on skills deficits which are identified via team discussions and agreed and finalised by the Programme Supervisor/Clinical Lead. With sound communication and interpersonal skills you will interact effectively with a range of clients and create effective working relationships. With the ability to meet set deadlines and to understand when problems need to be referred upwards you will work in a customer focused way, gaining trust of customers and providing a high quality service with a high level of attention to detail. A full valid driving licence is required as part of the role will entail use of own vehicle or a WSCC pool car.
