We are investing in our Adults Social Care Services to support our priorities and in preparation for new responsibilities under the Care Act which start to become effective from April 2015.

To help us develop and grow our service, we are looking to recruit motivated and experienced individuals to a number of social care roles. The roles will cover Chichester, Bognor, Worthing (covering Littlehampton), Shoreham, Horsham (covering Mid Sussex) and Crawley, on both a full-time and part-time basis.

We want to ensure residents, families and communities have the right support in place to enable them to confidently prepare for later life so they can live independently for as long as possible and remain economically active for longer.

You will demonstrate compassion and empathy in your approach to working with adults with social care needs, either through previous roles in social care or in other roles.

Working under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will visit people in their own homes and carry out assessments. You will also be involved in the provision and demonstration of daily living equipment supporting people to remain independent.

In addition to your community role, you will be required to be part of the staff rota for the county wide team who screen and triage referrals for adults to determine customer eligibility for an adult service. This requires working in Horsham during the period of rotation, which is approximately one week in four.

Salary £19,048 - £20,253 per annum
