We are looking for an enthusiastic Chartered librarian who has either experience (or an interest) in working with teachers and children; a good knowledge of children’s books and educational trends to join our Schools Library Service Team w.e.f from 13th April 2015.

You will work with the Head of Schools Library Service and other specialists in contributing to the management of resources and development of services, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of library services to schools who have a Service Level Agreement with the Schools Library Service.

Contribute to the delivery and development of services to schools who hold a Service Level Agreement with the Schools Library Service base, through efficient and effective: resource deployment and management; supporting the Management of the Schools Library Service Exchange and Project Loan Service; undertaking advisory visits and work in primary schools.

You will also provide professional support and training to teachers and staff involved in managing school libraries. In all instances ensuring performance indicators are met.

Applicants must be able to drive and be prepared to travel and visit schools across the County as required. This is an active role and some lifting will be required.
