Aspire Sussex provides adult education opportunities across West Sussex for over 10,000 adults, enabling people to achieve their aspirations. Reporting to the Director of Learning and working as part of Aspire’s Management team, the Faculty Manager – Employability Skills will lead and develop a team of curriculum staff to manage and deliver Aspire’s high quality Employability Skills programme The person appointed will be required to develop and implement a curriculum plan that meets contractual targets and raises quality standards. He/She will also need to work closely with the Quality Standards Manager to manage the quality and delivery of provision, ensuring that the standards set out in Ofsted’s Common Inspection Framework are both met and exceeded. Applicants should be educated to degree level or equivalent and should ideally hold a full teaching qualification. In addition they should have proven management experience, including successfully leading teams to deliver performance targets, with previous experience of delivering adult skills programmes (English, Maths, ESOL, ALDD), workplace learning, employability training programmes and foundation learning. A good understanding of Skills Funding methodology for adult education would also be highly desirable. The post will be based at one of our West Sussex offices, but the successful applicant will be expected to travel across the County to fulfil the requirements of the job. Some evening and weekend working will be required.
