Mobile Engineer/Fitter, West Sussex, £30,000-£33,000pa-Company van plus mobile and uniform (must provide own hand tools).
Our client is a market leading company specialising in the installation of a variety of adaptations/modifications to motor vehicles for drivers and passengers with disabilities.
Due to consistent growth over the last 10 years they now have an immediate requirement for a Mobile Engineer/Fitter to join their existing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for attending customer sites to carry out a variety of electrical and mechanical installations, overcoming challenges and using initiative in order to successfully adapt a vehicle in a safe, effective, timely manner and without an instruction manual.
Responsibilities;
• Installation/fitting of a variety of aids including wheelchair hoists, hand controls and other adaptations needed within customer vehicles.
• Covering the South East of England they will be required to travel to client's homes, car dealerships and workshops;
• Follow fitting instructions and use own initiative to overcome any issues with limited spares.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams to ensure that wiring is correctly installed.
• Carry out fabrication/welding duties as required.
• Attend workshops and further training as and when required.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety regulations.
• Maintain an awareness of company Quality Assurance requirements.
Requirements;
• The successful candidate must be an experienced multi-skilled engineer with demonstrable first class all round experience of fitting out vehicles and very good all round fabrication skills.
• Must be presentable and able to work unsupervised as will be working at client's homes as well as car dealerships and workshops.
• Take pride in their appearance, be customer focused and articulate
• Flexible with regards to travel and working hours.
• Ability to work to deadlines and be a good time-keeper.
• Experience of welding/fabrication – bending, grinding etc.
• Strong problem solving skills
• Hold a full valid UK driving licence.
