On the 2nd of June 2014, the Care Point 2 also known as the Adult Specialist Help Desk shall be created. This will be a County wide service for all new referrals to Adult Social Care/Occupational Therapy and ROVI/Deaf Services within West Sussex County Council. The directorate that this service will come under is the Independent Living Service (ILS). The main objective of the Independent Living Service shall be enablement and the provision of good quality information and advice. All individuals that require support from Care Point 2 shall be offered a service regardless of their socio-economic circumstances. Care Point 2 shall be working in accordance to the Care Act 2013, where by every local authority shall have the provision to offer good quality information and advice. This will be provided by designated staff members and also utilising new IT infrastructure in the form of Connect for Support. The Care Point service strives to keep the customer the main focus of the work we undertake and we are looking for a dynamic senior social work practitioner, who is forward thinking and able to develop positive relationships with colleagues and key partners. The ability to work from an enablement approach is essential for this role as well as promoting citizenship, empowerment and positive risk taking. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to challenge and advocate on behalf of colleagues and customers and be fair and considered in the way you approach your work and manage staff. You will also be open with communication and challenge and address poor practice but also equally acknowledge good practice.
