The multi-agency youth offending service (YOS) provides services before and after court appearances to meet the requirements of the Youth Justice Board. Its aim is to prevent and reduce youth crime.
You will have experience in working with young people. You will have good assessment skills, ability to engage with young people and have a passion for believing that people can change their behaviour and reach their potential. A knowledge of the youth justice system is an advantage but not essential. You will hold a case load of young people who have been in trouble with the police, develop appropriate intervention plans and deliver them with the aim of preventing further offending. The posts are county wide, although where possible staff will work within a geographical area. You will have an ability to travel around the county. Some flexible evening and weekend work will be required.
