The multi-agency youth offending service (YOS) provides services before and after court appearances to meet the requirements of the Youth Justice Board. Its aim is to prevent and reduce youth crime. This post works with those young people to improve their circumstances and reduce the likelihood of them re-offending.

A rare vacancy has arisen within the Court and Assessment team in the Youth Offending Service. Part of a small specialist team this role provides a service to the Youth and Crown Courts. You will have an ability to complete comprehensive and in depth assessments with excellent report writing skills. You will have a good knowledge of youth justice, a professional qualification and a dedication to achieving the right court outcome for young people to prevent further offending. Presentation skills and a confident manner are essential to this role as you will be representing the Youth Offending Service in the court setting. This role requires travel around the county, although it is based in Crawley and some evening and weekend work are required.
