HumberVHB began producing fresh herbs in 1989 and today we are the UK's largest producer / suppliers of fresh herbs to the UK retail market. Our two nurseries in West Sussex produce over 14 million fresh potted herbs per year. A vacancy has arisen for an Operative within the Herb Production Unit at our Angmering site near Littlehampton.

The role requires you to work as part of a team in tending to thousands of pots of herbs from seed to harvest, ensuring they have the necessary water, light and nutrients to grow successfully, so good communication skills are essential. The role would suit a self-starter who is enthusiastic, confident and happy to learn new skills.

The Job

Full-time Herb Production Operative

Working under glasshouse conditions throughout the year, the working week is Sunday to Thursday. starting at 7am with variable finish times based on an average 41 hour week. The position is permanent; attracts a competitive salary and the opportunity to develop within a successful business environment.

Desirable Skills

• Leadership
• Basic understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Horticulture skills and experience
